Republicans finally get it right.

Go figure.  Last week I renewed my driver’s licence and registered independent.

Tonight, Governor Sarah Palin spoke and captured my passion as an American in a way it hasn’t been done since I last heard the National Anthem on the parade deck of 8th & I.

I really was not happy how the media was responsible for John McCain’s triumph in the primaries.  I thought he was too liberal, and wanted someone who would contrast with the democrat candidate rather than move to the middle to get votes.  However, being a war veteran myself, I am very gratified that a man of upstanding character will most likely be our next president, barring the idiocy of the American public.  His choice of Governor Palin was just what he needed to get me emotionally and intellectually involved.

Mrs. Palin’s speech will no doubt go down as the one of the best political speeches in history.  The way she turned the liberal press’ every personal, vicious, unfounded, and irresponsible attack against them was sheer genious, and she delivered her speech with a confidence, poise and professionalism that I haven’t seen since Ronald Reagan (I wasn’t old enough to vote, but I was paying attention!).

Never before have I seen a career woman in politics that even remotely interested me.  My prayer for her is that she and her family will be protected and that she will find the balance to love up on her family while backing up the most powerful man in the world, and remain faithful to and relationally engaged with her husband, who has to be an amazing man to be willing to share that with the world.

As for Barack Hussein Obama II,stand down… your out of your league.  I’d have been really worried if he had chosen Hillary has his running mate, but they are both a bit too self-centered for that, a trait that contradicts the character that defines America, a nation he is not fit to lead.

…just ask me, and I’ll tell you how I really feel…
